Now Hiring: Parts Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Parts Specialist to oversee our collision parts, inventory tracking, vendor coordination, and parts logistics. This position ensures timely part delivery, accurate documentation, and strong communication with estimators and technicians. You’ll be instrumental in helping us deliver high-quality, on-time repairs for our customers.


Responsibilities


  • Manage and track all incoming/outgoing parts and maintain accurate records
  • Prepare regular inventory and vendor performance reports
  • Inspect all parts for damage, accuracy, and quality upon arrival
  • Coordinate closely with estimators and technicians to ensure repair readiness
  • Handle returns, warranty claims, and inventory of unreturnable items
  • Maintain a clean, organized parts department
  • Follow up with vendors on delivery ETAs and backorders
  • Support communication with customers regarding part delays if needed


Skills

  • Previous experience in parts management or ordering (collision or automotive preferred)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of orders
  • Experience working with vendors and negotiating pricing
  • Basic knowledge of automotive parts and repair processes
  • Computer proficiency with inventory systems and spreadsheets
  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player
  • CCC One proficient (Preferred)

Job description:

Summary:

The Paint Prep/Assistant Painter is responsible for efficiently assisting the Painter with all phases of preparation, masking, and application of paint materials on vehicle parts after body repair work is complete, adhering to Haywood's Autocrafters' quality and safety standards.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Available after one (1) year of continuous employment.
  • Paid Holidays: Available after one (1) year of continuous employment.
  • Pay: Weekly
  • Compensation: Subject to experience, Flag /Commission


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Painter with vehicle preparation and painting processes as required.
  • Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, and priming for paint application.
  • Apply paint materials to vehicle parts post-repair according to job specifications.
  • Ensure all areas of the vehicle not requiring paint are properly covered and protected.
  • Perform buffing or cleaning of painted and surrounding surfaces once the paint is cured.
  • Manage material inventory by requesting necessary supplies in a timely manner.
  • Assist in performing quality paint jobs efficiently and in accordance with shop guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized work environment.
  • Participate in all required company training and certification programs.
  • Accurately record all hours worked using the company timekeeping system.
  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and safety rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications and Requirements:

Education/Experience:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Collision Center environment (Paint/Prep) is a plus.
  • Ability to operate all necessary prep and painting equipment.


Certificates and Licenses:

  • A Valid Driver’s License is required.


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and reach regularly.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass an OSHA respiratory medical examination.


Environment Demands:

  • Work is performed primarily in the repair shop environment.
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise, vibration, paint-dust, paint fumes, and chemical agents.


Work Expectations:

  • The position requires regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Basic computer skills are needed for the paint equipment.
